Experiencing the taste of gold foil
When we watched Master A-fa and his wife lay gold foil, Master A-fa said that the material is the pure gold foil that some cake shops advertise as edible and gave us a piece of gold foil to taste. At that time, the bold Hsuan-yu immediately put the “expensive” gold foil into her mouth and tasted the gold foil. Therefore, she was called the “Princess Gold Foil” by the Public Television Service (PTS) Miss Ally.
Wife and daughter-in-law
Master A-fa said that once a customer from Mainland China was talking about business with him, and his daughter-in-law was helping him aside. Master A-fa introduced her to the customer from Mainland China, “This is my xi fu (daughter-in-law).” The customer was shocked and praised, “Your xi fu (wife) is so young.” Master A-fa was confused. Later, he found out that the word “xi fu” in Mainland China means “wife,” which is different from the usage in Taiwan. What a misunderstanding!
Poster of “Good Morning Picture”
When making posters for the class tour, the teacher kept reminding us that this was just a poster, not a painting competition. However, each team of us was more exaggerated than the other. Even though time was quite limited, we couldn’t restrain ourselves and started to use simple painting tools to show off our painting skills. One team even drew a lotus flower with gradients, and they joked that this inspiration came from the “good morning picture” commonly used by the elders. When everyone took a look at the poster, it indeed conveyed extraordinary artistic conception and is very suitable for promotion to the elders!
