"Survey on Statue Sprucing Craftsmanship"
When we promoted the concept of Statue Sprucing Craftsmanship to our classmates and teachers, we distributed 170 questionnaires and received 166 responses. Subsequently, we conducted some basic analysis to understand our school's teachers' and students' perceptions and expectations regarding Statue Sprucing Craftsmanship. Given the close association between Statue Sprucing Craftsmanship and religion, from the survey results depicted in the figure below, we discovered that originally half of the people had no religious beliefs. Additionally, about 5% of the students or teachers have folk beliefs, indicating a possible dual adherence to both Buddhism and Taoism.
As we suspected, many people, like us, have never witnessed the process of statue sprucing, thus their knowledge of it is quite limited. Even fewer have actually had direct contact with it, with the majority of people being unfamiliar with the traditional craftsmanship of statue sprucing before our introduction.
In addition, as many as 85% of individuals believe that the traditional craftsmanship of statue sprucing needs to be preserved and passed down. Approximately 85% of people are also willing or considering participating in statue sprucing experience courses offered by the school. Moreover, 74% of respondents expressed a desire for the statue sprucing craftsmanship and statue sprucing masters to be recognized by more people.
These feedbacks give us more confidence in promoting the art of statue sprucing. We hope that through various means of introduction, we can promote the flourishing of the statue sprucing craft.
