We started grouping up to gather information.
Splitting into five groups to discuss the content to be presented on the poster.
After assigning each person’s task, we started drawing posters. We all came from different classes. Although we have worked together for a long time, we still don’t know each other’s abilities very well. Unexpectedly, when we started drawing the posters, each one was really more detailed than the other one. The teacher kept reminding us that we only had one or two lunch breaks and after school time to draw the posters. However, we e couldn't stop, and some groups were so efficient that they finished the posters in no time and started practicing the presentation for class tour.
Each group is making the best poster in the shortest time possible:
Owing to the limited time, we gave presentations to six classes this time, and there was also final presentation to all teachers of literature and history subjects in the school. Although we were very nervous at the beginning, our presentation got better and better every time. By the time of the final presentation to teachers, we really won the applause of the teachers!
Feedback class tour
Ting-en Shi: This was the first time I gave a live presentation without a draft, and I thought my performance would be miserable. However, when I actually stood in front of the class, all my worries disappeared. I was not sure whether I was too nervous and lost all my worries or it was a moment of determination that made me face the reality. Although my performance was not as good as expected, it was not as bad as I imagined. I believe this should be a moment of progress for me. After being explained this craft again and again, I was able to naturally walk up to the audience and introduce this craft loudly. I hope that the project theme - statue sprucing craft can attract more people’s attention through international Cyberfair and our efforts. Hopefully, this craft can be passed down!
I-cheng Liao: From drawing posters to giving presentations on stage, we learned poster layout, decoration, and presentation movements and manners. And no matter how bad our performance in the presentation was, the teacher encouraged us one by one and asked us to keep up our efforts.
Pei-shan Hsieh: The first time I introduced this craft in the presentation, I was actually very nervous. However, after practicing it a few more times, I felt less nervous and less likely to get stuck on my words. Although I still couldn't speak comfortably in the end, I felt that we all tried our best.
Yu-lun Cheng: Although I had practiced presentation after finishing the poster, I was still very nervous when I went on stage and accidentally deleted more than half of my words. However, after the first presentation was completed, I found that it was not that scary. Moreover, when I got stuck on the stage, the director would help me out. I am truly grateful to the director.
Hsuan-yu Chen: At the beginning, I was unfamiliar with how to give a presentation, so I spent a lot of time on practicing after class, which also taught me that practice will lead to good results. We spent a lot of time giving presentations and performing interviews just to let more people know about Master A-fa. We introduced Master A-fa to other students through class tour for promotion, so that everyone can learn more about a craft in Taiwan. We also realize that Master A-fa is indeed a very amazing person who has preserved a very important traditional craft for Taiwan!
Yi-han Huang: I was very nervous during the first presentation and kept getting stuck and forgetting words. Later, I learned a trick: I treated everyone in the audience as potatoes. Indeed, the nervousness and fear gradually disappeared. Until the last presentation in the class tour, I found that even if I didn't think about potatoes, I wouldn’t feel nervous or forget the words. This should be the so-called practice makes perfect!
Yu-han Huang: Although I can't speak on stage, I can draw. Therefore, I helped make posters. It is really gratifying to be able to enable more people know about and understand a craft that is about to disappear. However, it’s not enough to let so few people in the school know about this craft. As a result, I hope that after we set up the website, more people will know about the precious traditional craft of statue sprucing.
Ting-chen Chang: Although time was limited, our posters were all very beautifully drawn. Even though we were very nervous during the first presentation, we all showed our best in the final presentation and completed the class tour. I hope that we can successfully win the platinum award in the Cyberfair!
